Biohacker Review: the Mercedes-Benz of Magnesium
Personally, given the option, I reach for the Mercedes-Benz of Magnesium, Magnesium L-Threonate. It's more bioavailable and has greater benefits to cognition but it first caught my attention for a really silly reason...
About 20 years ago, before all these silly, over-commercialized Star Wars and Star Trek movies came out there was an (actually good!) Star Trek movie called Insurrection featuring Captain Picard and the rest of the Next Generation Enterprise cast. In the movie, they were in this tense political standoff with these aliens that were using this banned, illegal space weapon called Threonate.
You should watch that movie if you like science fiction and regularly supplement magnesium if you care about your Mitochondria!
Benefits
- MOST BIOAVAILABLE FORM OF MAGNESIUM – L-Theonate is a mineral chelating agent that is able to greatly enhance the bioavailability of magnesium making it highly absorbable.
- IMPROVE MEMORY AND OVERALL COGNITIVE FUNCTION – Research showed Magnesium L-Threonate improved recall, slowed age-related memory decline, and helped create new neural pathways.
- FALL ASLEEP EASIER AND SLEEP BETTER - Magnesium is a natural muscle relaxer which can also calm the brain at bedtime, making it helpful in mitigating insomnia as well as Restless Leg Syndrome.
- MADE IN THE USA AND TESTED INDEPENDENTLY - Our Magnesium L-Threonate Capsules are manufactured right here in the USA.
About Magnesium L-Threonate
Magnesium is an essential dietary mineral and is the second most common electrolyte in the body. Magnesium deficiencies are common in the western diet, and magnesium deficiencies can cause a number of adverse health effects including weakness, cramps, anxiety, and high blood pressure.
There are many supplemental forms of Magnesium, but what makes Magnesium L-Threonate unique is that research has shown that this form, in particular, can improve brain magnesium and may have cognitive-enhancing properties. Research on Magnesium L-Threonate has shown it to provide improvements in learning and recall, as well as slowing age-related cognitive decline.
Recommended Dosage
When taken as a supplement, we recommend a daily dosage of 1000 – 2000 mg. (2-4 capsules.) It is not recommended to exceed 2000 mg per day.
Side Effects
The most common side effect associated with Magnesium use is drowsiness, which is why it is best taken at night. Dizziness and headaches are rarely reported, but possible side effects.
