Biohacker Review: A Very Smooth Nootropic with a Rare Offer

HCF stands for Happy, Calm, Focused and that's exactly what it is.

HCF contains a number of very high-quality Nootropic ingredients. A wide range of the B Vitamins your brain craves along with several important amino acids that are important to feed your brain to maintain cognitive abilities as your brain ages.

While on HCF I feel sharper, I notice myself managing stress somewhat better. I wish I could throw a 5-star review behind HCF, however, it just doesn't make me feel very Limitless... The ideal sensation I look for from my nootropics is a combination of:
1. Productivity buzz, an almost 'wired up' feeling of body energy, especially in the mornings when I am waking up.
2. Really high levels of focus (not getting distracted with minor things throughout the day).
3. Increased confidence in social and business situations.
4. I'm noticeably more articulate while dosed (better mastery of my words).

I just didn't get this from HCF consistently. I even noticed a few times while dosed on HCF I'd sink into that low-energy afternoon lull that life hackers like myself so loathe. HCF contains no caffeine or other ingredients that people take to get a buzz. I think the philosophy behind the HCF is more sustainable brain health than immediate productive buzz. Since I'm a productivity buzz junkie, I would recommend taking 4 capsules daily as opposed to 2. You may even want to take HCF with something that does give you a buzz, like coffee or piracetam.

Given my experience, I wouldn't pay the $60 retail monthly price for this supplement. However, they have a 20-day free trial to test drive the product which I would RECOMMEND the readers of this blog take advantage of. Everyone's constitution reacts a little differently to different supplements but anytime you can try something for free or even at a discounted rate, go for it! It's a deal where you signup for the free trial, they send you out the product to try for 20 days and if you like it they put you on a $40/monthly VIP auto-ship plan. After trying the product for even 10 days you will know for sure whether or not it's worth $40/monthly to you. $40/monthly is a very reasonable investment to make if a nootropic supplement does work for you.

Free trial offers are pretty rare in the Nootropics industry, in fact, this is the only one I'm aware of, so it speaks to a very high level of confidence that HCF has in their product. Which is a very good sign!

All other things being equal, I'd buy supplements from HCF over other Nootropics companies in the industry. If you visit the HCF website they are very transparent about the management of the company and the process behind the product. As I've said in other places on this blog I really like companies that stake their reputation on the quality of their product. HCF is made in the USA, which is great if you like to support companies that create American jobs.

HCF also has a really solid affiliate plan (which I am a member of obviously). I always face the capitalist blogger's dilemma when I come across a product that I'm not 100% impressed with but has a really great affiliate plan. As long as they continue to offer a trial of their product I will continue to recommend people take advantage of it. If you go through the links above it will get you started with the 20 day trial along with supporting the podcast and research on Nootropics we do here at Limitless Mindset. Thanks!

Biohacker Review: I IGNITE my afternoons with this stack...

My first time trying Ignition, I woke up too early and, underslept, became sluggish around noon - hits of Nicotine weren't enough to keep me in the focus zone - so I dropped two Ignition capsules. This pepped me right up and I had a productive day doing web development stuff and blasting through emails, which is just what I'd expect from a caffeinated Nootropic stack.

Stacking Ignition and its "big brother" Max Focus helped me cycle off Nicotine - I don't smoke or vape but I intermittently use Nicotine in VG/PG USP solution as a creativity-promoting smart drug. The first few days off Nicotine are usually a bit rough on me, I need some stimulation and mood support which the Nootropics delivered.

I stay NeuroActive with 3 capsules of Max Focus in the morning and 3 of Ignition in the mid-afternoon. The stimulating and cognitive enhancement effects are potent and there's a notable uptick in my verbal abilities, I recorded this 120-minute, deep-dive, book review podcast on the stack. I take the Max Focus in the mornings and the Ignition in the early afternoons because I prefer to get my AM caffeination from my beautiful cup of steaming, Bulletproof-style, MCT-infused coffee. After lunch, I like to get a stimulant in my system to power through the rest of the day, when I'm cycled off Nicotine a caffeine-rich stack like Ignition is just what I need.

Let's look at a few of the stack's ingredients and discuss their synergies...

  • Caffeine - Three capsules pack a punch with 100 milligrams of Caffeine - that's equivalent to a strong cup of coffee - enough to get you up and running in the morning or power you through the post-lunch doldrums. So if you are stimulant-sensitive take just one or two capsules.
  • Rhodiola - The king of adaptogens - an efficacious dose (200 milligrams) of the high-performance biohacker's herb for wakefulness, alertness, and stress resilience.
  • L-Theanine - Provides the tranquility while Caffeine the stimulation, delivering a sublime state of relaxed arousal. It takes the edge off the caffeine buzz and is a favorite of writers as a subtle creativity smart drug.
  • Panax Ginseng - Another subtle soothing Nootropic that balances out the energizing Nootropics without reducing motivation, an adaptogenic medicinal herb of mythological potency for increasing stamina and a profound sense of well-being.

All the stack's ingredients are validated by a certificate of analysis, which I double-checked myself.

Biohacker Review: Good for verbal intelligence but...

I've been taking using Mind Lab Pro for a few weeks now. I've transitioned off Racetams for a few months, just for experimentation purposes, and have been using Adaptogens daily which doesn't imbue as much energy which Mind Lab Pro makes up for.

It's quite good for verbal intelligence, I've used it a couple of times before I did my Biohacking consultations. I try to batch process my Biohacking consultations, I will do four or five 30-minute calls in an afternoon, and it's important that...

  • I can answer the (sometimes quite complicated) Biohacking questions my clients have for me (that a lot of times they couldn't find the answer to with a Google search).
  • I am a good empathetic listener.
  • I am energetic and positive.

The combination of substances that are in these pills are sufficient for increased mental focus and concentration although when combined with nootropics, which are naturally occurring cognitive stimulants, the effects are multiplied by at least 15 times. I’d recommend starting with piracetam, as this is a less potent no-tropic.

A scam...

This content in addition to the various forum posts throwing this product under the bus has essentially put 'Profiderall Labs' out of business. Hopefully, this will serve as an example to other scammy product marketers; don't enter the Nootropics industry unless you have a really credible product that you are prepared to personally stand behind.

Qualia (Maybe?) Problematic

Several people have asked me about this slick Nootropic stack product and I also know several people who have tried and loved it. I've personally experimented with over 100 different Nootropics over the past 10 years and I can tell you, even without trying it, that there are a couple of problems with Qualia...

Biohacker ReviewA Comprehensive Nootropic Regimen from a Credentialed Team

Note: This is a review of truBrain's original racetam-rich Nootropic, I have not reviewed their current line of products.

As a lifehacking, productivity-junkie you should always be looking for products that "small chunk" good consumption habits for you. That's exactly what truBrain does. The monthly Nootropic package they send you contains 44 different packets, each containing 4-6 capsules of different Nootropics.

There are 3 different types of packets in the truBrain package...

  • A.M Packets - Great for my morning productivity and creativity.
  • P.M Packets - The Afternoon package is actually more energizing than the morning packet, which is great for me because the afternoon is usually when I most need the energy. Several times I noticed a 'second wind' of energy 3-4 hours after consuming the P.M packages.
  • Turbo Packets - The first time I tried a turbo was late in the afternoon, after about 7 hours of web development work. I could definitely feel the energy 'kick in' from the Turbo capsule; I did about 45 minutes of pretty rigorous exercise, had dinner while discussing strategy with a client then went out on the town to a language exchange event where I practiced my second language for several hours. I felt quite energetic 'partying sober' till about 1:30 AM and then slept quite soundly.

The primary ingredient in the product is Piracetam, the daily dosage includes 3 grams of Piracetam. I'm a lifetime fan of Piracetam, it's the original Nootropic and has been thoroughly tested for about half a century. Piracetam is also one of the safest things you can put in your body. Interestingly, Piracetam has no LD50, meaning that in rat testing there is NO upper limit lethal dosage of Piracetam. It also contains Pramiracetam, which is supposed to be like next-level Piracetam. I was excited about trying Pramiracetam for quite some time but I really couldn't tell much of a difference.

It contains 8 Nootropic ingredients that sustainably increase Serotonin, Dopamine, and Acetylcholine. It also contains 250 milligrams of Choline which is an important Nootropic cofactor to the Piracetam. Every doctor or expert I've talked to about Piracetam has said that it's a great idea to take Choline with it. Dosages of over 3-4 grams of Piracetam a day can lead to a nervous anxious 'cracked out' feeling, which I've experienced myself. Choline balances this out so you are energetic but clear-headed.

Unlike some other Nootropic supplements I've tried, there's not a strong 'kick in' 20-40 minutes after taking it for the first time. The first few days of taking the product are a loading phase for getting your system accustomed to certain nutrients, after which the day-to-day effects of taking the product are more pronounced. So maybe not the Nootropic stack for those demanding instant results.

The month that I was on truBrain I was juggling a lot: launching another services division of my marketing firm, exercising consistently, improving my 2nd language, various stressors related to settling into my lifestyle as an American ex-pat in South America, and on top of these things I challenged myself by doing a 'sober trip' (meaning I stayed completely sober) while simultaneously going out to socialize 3-5 times a week in downtown Medellin, Colombia which is a quintessential sexy, cosmopolitan vice city. Despite having this much going on I noticed myself managing stress exceptionally well, the entire month I had maybe two or three nights that I laid awake for hours in bed, which is great for me!

You can drink coffee while on it, without feeling cracked out which I appreciate because one of the very best coffee shops in South America is about a 5-minute walk from where I live! It's sharply packaged and I got some interesting questions while taking the supplements in public.

The Snooze test: I like to use Nootropics as part of my waking ritual. At first light or whenever my alarm clock goes off in the morning, I will hit the snooze button and take my Nootropics, drink a glass of water and then go back to bed. I usually set snooze to go off in 20-minute intervals, so by the time the alarm sounds again, the Nootropics should be kicking in and waking me up. truBrain did ok with the snooze test but did not outperform coffee or three 800-milligram tablets of Piracetam.

Looking at the ingredients I would think this supplement would be fairly effective at inducing lucid dreams but I noticed no increased lucid dreaming during the month I took it.

truBrain follows the supplement company business model I trust the most, in that they are transparent about the management of the company. Among the highly credentialed team members listed on the website are Dr. Christoph Michel of the University of Geneva and Dr. Andrew Hill of UCLA. truBrain is unique in the Nootropics industry in that it is backed by a high-end Los Angeles venture capital firm, Start Engine (a division of Accenture, veteran venture capitalist Paul Kessler's company) of which I think adds further credibility to the product.

Speaking of venture capitalists, my understanding is that for the most successful VC's the most important criteria for picking the companies they invest in is the team behind the companies. I recommend picking the supplements you invest in the same way.

truBrain is one of the more expensive supplements on the market, this makes a little more sense when you realize a single packet (of which you take two a day) contains 4-6 different capsules. When you consider the number of supplements you are taking its price point makes more sense.

The product is a little more expensive but it has a money-back guarantee so if you can afford it I would encourage you to try it! If you try it, take 2 minutes to leave an honest review of the product on the Limitless Mindset Mind Power Marketplace listing for truBrain.
