Editor's Biohacker ReviewAminos in the morning!

In the last few days, I've been taking L-Tyrosine (900 milligrams) with ALCAR in the mornings. So far I've noticed a little of an energizing effect but it doesn't really compare to Racetams.

I decided to take a break from coffee, which I've attempted a couple of times before, it's usually rough. I started taking Tyrosine first thing in the mornings and afternoons. I upped the dosage to 2700 which produces an alert and wakeful mindset after about 30 minutes.

It has the consistency of flour. It's one of the most boring tasting Nootropics I've tried, it has almost no flavor at all.

It's pretty good for sleep deprivation, in dosages of 2700 - 3600 milligrams. I've taken it a couple of nights recently where I had gotten less than 4 hours of sleep, it has restored my alertness, creativity, and focus for 4-6 hours. I returned to the baseline of my productivity (which is quite productive). Then I would go off a cognitive cliff, finding myself aimlessly browsing or watching Youtube videos. Especially combined with Caballo or other Racetams, I was quite impressed by my creative powers in a sleep-deprived state. Sleep deprivation is probably not a good policy but I do like to party and Tyrosine enables my sometimes Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde lifestyle, of late-night hedonism and mornings spent like a disciplined entrepreneur. Although, it's not exactly a perfect solution for sleep deprivation, as it does take about 30 minutes to kick in, during which I feel like a real zombie!

L-Theanine by Nootropics Depot

Nootropics & Anti-Aging

What is L-Theanine?
First discovered as a constituent of green tea leaves (Camellia sinensis) in 1949, L-Theanine is an amino acid analogue of the proteinogenic amino acids L-glutamate and L-glutamine. L-Theanine is considered a nondietary amino acid, not unlike L-Ornithine or L-Citrulline. L-Theanine is primarily known for its ability to promote relaxation without causing sleep and is often paired with Caffeine. It is thought that L-Theanine helps balance the negative effects of Caffeine that some people experience. Together, L-theanine and Caffeine are considered one of the most commonly used and popular nootropic stack options that may promote faster reaction time, numeric working memory reaction time and improved sentence verification accuracy.

L-Theanine Benefits and Uses
L-Theanine benefits and uses may include:

Promotes relaxation
Support healthy sleep cycles
Support healthy stress levels
Promote feelings of well-being
Support cognitive function and focus
Synergistic effects with Caffeine

L-Theanine Studies
L-Theanine may have positive mood-boosting effects as scientists have discovered that it changes levels of amino acids affecting serotonin and other neurotransmitters in the brain. L-Theanine may also help suppress glucocorticoids. Glucocorticoids are stress hormones that can have a negative effect on mood, memory and learning. L-Theanine may act as a glutamate antagonist and, in turn, balance the harmful effects of high glucocorticoid levels. This also suggests that L-Theanine may be neuroprotective as well.

Additionally, L-Theanine may promote better sleep. One Japanese human study where participants were given a daily L-Theanine supplement concluded that L-Theanine did not induce sleep or make them sleep longer - but rather that it improved sleep quality. Documented participant responses claimed that exhaustion recovery and feelings of being refreshed were enhanced by L-Theanine.

L-Theanine supplementation has been studied for its potential ability to reduce mental and physical stress, improve cognition, and boost mood and cognitive performance. It is also reported to promote alpha wave production in the brain. One study conducted by Unilever was able to confirm that even small amounts of L-Theanine were able to promote alpha wave production as indicated on an EEG (Electroencephalography).

L-Theanine Dosage
As a dietary supplement, take one 200mg L-Theanine capsule daily.

L-Theanine may be synergistic with Green Tea Extract.

Bacopa Monnieri Extract by Double Wood

Nootropics & Anti-Aging

Bacopa monnieri, also known as water hyssop, is an herb commonly used in Ayurveda.

Studies have shown that supplementing Bacopa can have a beneficial effect on cognition, both by improving memory formation and by reducing anxiety.

Bacopa affects both the dopaminergic and serotonergic systems but works mainly by enhancing the rate at which neurons communicate by increasing the growth of dendrites (nerve endings), thus facilitating communication between brain cells.

Our Bacopa extract is standardized to 20% bacosides (the active ingredient in the Bacopa herb)

Uridine is a nucleotide that acts as a precursor of brain synapses and membrane phospholipids in conjunction with the omega-3 fatty acid docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) and choline sources.

It may enhance some brain cholinergic functions. Uridine also supports the health and function of liver mitochondria.

Save money on one of the most popular nootropic combinations with this combo pack! You'll receive one bottle of Alpha GPC and Uridine Monophosphate.

Alpha GPC and Uridine both work to increase levels of the essential neurotransmitter acetylcholine, and synergize well to boost memory and overall cognitive function.

Recommended Dosage
Alpha GPC:Take 1-2 300mg capsules in the morning, and again in the afternoon if needed.

Uridine: Take 1-2 300 mg per day to support cholinergic brain function and formation of synaptic connections, repeat in the afternoon if needed.

Pure DL-Phenylalanine (DLPA)

Nootropics & Anti-Aging

Phenylalanine is an essential amino acid that the body needs to synthesize proteins and neurotransmitters that are critical for the central nervous system to function properly. DL-phenylalanine (DLPA) is a 50/50 mixture of the synthetic D- form made in a laboratory and the L- form of this amino acid that occurs naturally in proteins. Phenylalanine is one of the few amino acids that can be utilized in its D- form. Because DL-phenylalanine (DLPA) contains 50% L-phenylalanine and 50% D-phenylalanine, it possesses some of the effects of both forms.
