Biohacker ReviewA sensation enhancer

The more reading I did on Horny Goat Weed, the more curious I got about trying it myself and finally punched the buy now button.

The good news is...
It definitely improves the sensation of sex and masturbation but not to the extent that I think I'll order it again. For example, if you Horny Goat Wood before having protected sex with a condom it's not going to make it feel like you are having unprotected sex. I didn't find it to be that big of a difference in sensation but it is noticeable and pleasant.

Some of the studies I read lead me to believe that the Icariin, the active ingredient in Horny Goat Weed, is a cognitive enhancer. I didn't experience this at all.

Practicing no fap while taking Horny Goat Weed is a recipe for being very horny, I can see why they used to put skirts around table legs. However, it didn't noticeably boost my testosterone levels nor did it make much of difference in my level of energy and productivity.

Supports Hormonal Vitality-Suitable For Men And Women!

Horny Goat Weed (Epimedium grandiflorum/E. brevicorum) is an ornamental plant that also has a long history of traditional use in Chinese herbalism. It was viewed as a kidney/adrenal tonic that was used for male sexual health and hormonal balance in both men and women. Epimedium was thought to "tonify life's gate" - a term used to refer to the "vital energy" in men. NOW Horny Goat Weed Extract is standardized to 10% Icariin and is combined with Maca, another vitality herb.

Biohacker Review: This epigenetic vitamin is (not so) tasty!

I got 10 grams of powdered Nicotinamide Riboside from Youth & Earth and while it's one of the better NAD+ sources, I don't love its taste. It's far from the yuckiest-tasting powdered supplement I've tried so when I do another cycle with NR (Nicotinamide Riboside) I'll take it capsuled.

Biohacker ReviewQuality NAC

I've been using this NAC daily for a few weeks - it doesn't have any noticeable Nootropic effects.

I drank a bit more than usual on New Years' Eve 2018, I supplemented some NAC and ALA before drinking and then before bed some activated charcoal. The next day I awoke with a barely perceptible hangover, so NAC is a good idea before a night of social drinking.

Biohack ReviewThe marvels of magnesium are myriad!

Magnesium Breakthrough is my favorite supplement from BiOptimizers; this contains seven different forms of Magnesium...
Bisglycinate
Chelate
Citrate
Malate
Orotate
Sucrosomial
Taurate

I'll tell you some about my experiences with it and break down some of the recent science on these seven forms.

Lion's Mane by Lost Empire Herbs

Biohacker Review: A Neurogenesis Unleashing Nootropic Mushroom

I used Lost Empire Herb's 8:1 Dual Extract Lion's Mane for about a month. It adds a pleasant earthy taste to my morning cup of steaming coffee.

  • It has a subtle Nootropic effect, although as far as Adaptogens go I find Chaga or Rhodiola more stimulating. After taking it I found myself in a productive, focused headspace.
  • I'm thankful to have Lion's Mane in my war chest of immuno-fortifying natural herbs, taking it I managed to avoid getting the sniffles during the cold, dry Eastern European winter here in Bulgaria.
  • I can't speak much to its Neurogenesis effects, I suspect I'd have to take it for longer for these effects to become apparent.

L-Tyrosine by Intellimeds

Nootropics & Anti-Aging

Editor's Biohacker ReviewAminos in the morning!

In the last few days, I've been taking L-Tyrosine (900 milligrams) with ALCAR in the mornings. So far I've noticed a little of an energizing effect but it doesn't really compare to Racetams.

I decided to take a break from coffee, which I've attempted a couple of times before, it's usually rough. I started taking Tyrosine first thing in the mornings and afternoons. I upped the dosage to 2700 which produces an alert and wakeful mindset after about 30 minutes.

It has the consistency of flour. It's one of the most boring tasting Nootropics I've tried, it has almost no flavor at all.

It's pretty good for sleep deprivation, in dosages of 2700 - 3600 milligrams. I've taken it a couple of nights recently where I had gotten less than 4 hours of sleep, it has restored my alertness, creativity, and focus for 4-6 hours. I returned to the baseline of my productivity (which is quite productive). Then I would go off a cognitive cliff, finding myself aimlessly browsing or watching Youtube videos. Especially combined with Caballo or other Racetams, I was quite impressed by my creative powers in a sleep-deprived state. Sleep deprivation is probably not a good policy but I do like to party and Tyrosine enables my sometimes Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde lifestyle, of late-night hedonism and mornings spent like a disciplined entrepreneur. Although, it's not exactly a perfect solution for sleep deprivation, as it does take about 30 minutes to kick in, during which I feel like a real zombie!

HCF (Happy Focused Calm)

Biohacker Review: A Very Smooth Nootropic with a Rare Offer

HCF stands for Happy, Calm, Focused and that's exactly what it is.

HCF contains a number of very high-quality Nootropic ingredients. A wide range of the B Vitamins your brain craves along with several important amino acids that are important to feed your brain to maintain cognitive abilities as your brain ages.

While on HCF I feel sharper, I notice myself managing stress somewhat better. I wish I could throw a 5-star review behind HCF, however, it just doesn't make me feel very Limitless... The ideal sensation I look for from my nootropics is a combination of:
1. Productivity buzz, an almost 'wired up' feeling of body energy, especially in the mornings when I am waking up.
2. Really high levels of focus (not getting distracted with minor things throughout the day).
3. Increased confidence in social and business situations.
4. I'm noticeably more articulate while dosed (better mastery of my words).

I just didn't get this from HCF consistently. I even noticed a few times while dosed on HCF I'd sink into that low-energy afternoon lull that life hackers like myself so loathe. HCF contains no caffeine or other ingredients that people take to get a buzz. I think the philosophy behind the HCF is more sustainable brain health than immediate productive buzz. Since I'm a productivity buzz junkie, I would recommend taking 4 capsules daily as opposed to 2. You may even want to take HCF with something that does give you a buzz, like coffee or piracetam.

Given my experience, I wouldn't pay the $60 retail monthly price for this supplement. However, they have a 20-day free trial to test drive the product which I would RECOMMEND the readers of this blog take advantage of. Everyone's constitution reacts a little differently to different supplements but anytime you can try something for free or even at a discounted rate, go for it! It's a deal where you signup for the free trial, they send you out the product to try for 20 days and if you like it they put you on a $40/monthly VIP auto-ship plan. After trying the product for even 10 days you will know for sure whether or not it's worth $40/monthly to you. $40/monthly is a very reasonable investment to make if a nootropic supplement does work for you.

Free trial offers are pretty rare in the Nootropics industry, in fact, this is the only one I'm aware of, so it speaks to a very high level of confidence that HCF has in their product. Which is a very good sign!

All other things being equal, I'd buy supplements from HCF over other Nootropics companies in the industry. If you visit the HCF website they are very transparent about the management of the company and the process behind the product. As I've said in other places on this blog I really like companies that stake their reputation on the quality of their product. HCF is made in the USA, which is great if you like to support companies that create American jobs.

HCF also has a really solid affiliate plan (which I am a member of obviously). I always face the capitalist blogger's dilemma when I come across a product that I'm not 100% impressed with but has a really great affiliate plan. As long as they continue to offer a trial of their product I will continue to recommend people take advantage of it. If you go through the links above it will get you started with the 20 day trial along with supporting the podcast and research on Nootropics we do here at Limitless Mindset. Thanks!
